October is the month Netflix UK stops being polite about it. Florence Pugh opens proceedings on the 1st, Wicked lands in the middle of the month, the horror back catalogue turns up for Halloween, and four returning series arrive that people have been waiting on for a year or more.
Here is the full dated list for Netflix UK, along with the ones actually worth planning an evening around.
The six to put in the calendar
East of Eden (1 October). Florence Pugh leads the adaptation, and it lands on day one rather than being held back, which tells you how Netflix rates it.
Wicked (10 October). The big licensed film of the month, and the one most likely to be on in a lot of British living rooms that weekend.
The Diplomat season 4 (15 October). One of the most reliably searched returning series Netflix has, back mid-month.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners season 2 (20 October). The first run became the reference point for what Netflix anime could be. This has been a long wait.
Nobody Wants This season 3 (22 October). The comedy that quietly became one of Netflix’s most-watched returns for a third run.
Lupin Part 4 (23 October). Back after a considerable gap.
Halloween, handled properly
Netflix UK has pulled in a genuine horror catalogue this month rather than a handful of token titles.
The classics arriving include Dracula, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, Friday the 13th and Psycho. Alongside them sit more recent frights including Ouija, The Strangers and Evil Dead Rise.
Worth knowing that seasonal licensing like this is usually short. Horror brought in for October has a habit of leaving again in November, so if you are planning a run through them, do it this month. Our guide to checking whether a title is leaving Netflix UK covers how to spot a departure before it happens.
Anime
A strong month, and unusually it includes weekly releases rather than Netflix’s more typical habit of holding a full season back.
- Ramparts of Ice season 2 — 1 October
- Blue Box season 2 — 4 October
- Ranma 1/2 season 3 — 4 October
- Cyberpunk: Edgerunners season 2 — 20 October
- My Happy Marriage special episodes — 25 October
If you follow anime as it airs rather than in batches, our comparison of Netflix versus Crunchyroll in the UK explains why keen viewers usually keep both.
Documentaries
An unusually deep month for factual. Schumacher 94: The Birth of a Legend (2 October), EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert (6 October), Free Leonard Peltier (12 October), The Disciple: A Wu-Tang Fable and Norm: The Tale of Norm Macdonald (both 16 October), and The One About Matthew Perry (27 October).

One for the British audience
Beat Luke Littler (30 October) is a live event built around the darts player, and it will mean a great deal more here than it does to Netflix’s American subscribers. A reminder that the UK catalogue is assembled separately, which our guide to how the UK and US libraries differ goes through.

A note on these dates
Everything above comes from UK listings rather than an American schedule, which matters more than it sounds. A great deal of Netflix coverage online is written for the United States, and those dates frequently do not apply here.
Dates can still move, particularly for licensed films. If something matters to you, the title’s own page inside Netflix is the only source that is right for your account.
What time do these actually appear?
Worth knowing if you plan to watch something the day it lands.
Netflix Originals release globally on Pacific time, which puts them at around 8am UK time for most of the year. Licensed films and series work differently and arrive at midnight UK time.
So a licensed film dated the 10th has been sitting there since just after midnight, while a Netflix series dated the same day appears over breakfast. Our guide to what’s new on Netflix UK explains the timings in full, along with how much arrives each week.
And what is going
Netflix UK removes roughly as much as it adds each month, and the bulk of it goes on the 1st. If something has been sitting in your list since the summer, this is the month to deal with it.
Our guide to what’s leaving Netflix UK covers how removals work, why whole franchises disappear together, and the detail that catches people out: a title leaving “on the 1st” is gone in the early hours of that day, so your real deadline is the evening before.
Common questions
What is the biggest release on Netflix UK in October 2026?
East of Eden with Florence Pugh opens the month on 1 October, and Wicked is the largest licensed film, arriving on 10 October.
Is The Diplomat back this month?
Yes. Season 4 arrives on 15 October.
When does Cyberpunk: Edgerunners season 2 land?
20 October.
Will the Halloween horror films stay after October?
Often not. Seasonal licences tend to be short, so titles brought in for Halloween frequently leave again in November.
Do these UK dates match the US ones?
Not reliably. Netflix buys rights country by country, so British dates are set separately and often differ.
In short
A heavy month. Florence Pugh on the 1st, Wicked on the 10th, The Diplomat on the 15th, Edgerunners on the 20th, Lupin on the 23rd, and a proper horror catalogue running through to Halloween.
For what to watch while you wait, the Netflix UK Top 10 is a decent guide to what the country is actually watching, with the caveats we set out about how that chart is built.
