Netflix starts putting Christmas films up on 1 November. Four of them, on day one. Make of that what you will.
Underneath the tinsel, though, November has one genuinely significant arrival for a British audience, and it lands on the fifth.
The month: Black Doves series 2
5 November. All six episodes at once.
Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw return as Helen and Sam in the London-set spy thriller that turned out to be Netflix’s best British commission in years. The second series puts them against a conspiracy aimed at the leadership of the organisation itself.
Neve Campbell joins as Cecile Mason, an American Defense Department official, alongside Sylvia Hoeks, Goran Kostić and Samuel Barnett.

A note on this list, and every other one you will read
Before the rest: something worth knowing, because it affects how useful any November list is to you right now.
The UK-specific list for November has not been published yet. It normally appears about a week before the month starts, so around 28 October.
What exists today is the American list, and the UK catalogue is genuinely different. In October, Netflix UK got Judge John Deed — all six series of the Martin Shaw legal drama — along with Malory Towers, the BBC adaptation set in post-war Cornwall. Neither appeared on any American list. Meanwhile Netflix UK also picked up Wicked, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and The Lego Movie, on dates of their own.
So most articles you find will reprint the American list as though it were a British one. We are not going to do that. Below, everything is sorted into what we can rely on and what we cannot, and we will update this page when the UK list lands. Confirmed: the Originals
These are Netflix’s own productions. They release worldwide on the same day, so the dates are reliable for Britain.

The three worth putting in the diary
Black Doves series 2, obviously.
Possible Love, because Lee Chang-dong directs roughly one film a decade and they tend to be extraordinary. If you have seen Burning or Poetry you know why this is the quiet pick of the month.
The Altruists, with Julia Garner playing into a cryptocurrency true-crime story. Garner has not made a bad choice in years.
Reported, but not confirmed for Britain
These are licensed titles reported by American sources. Licensed films are negotiated territory by territory, so we cannot promise any of them for the UK, and the Christmas block in particular tends to differ.

Still to come: the UK list
When the British list is published around the end of October, expect it to add a layer the American one does not have:
- British back catalogue. October brought Judge John Deed and Malory Towers. November will bring something similar, and these are frequently the titles UK subscribers most want.
- Different cinema films. UK theatrical rights run on their own timetable, so the big films arriving in Britain in November will not be the ones on the American list.
- Different dates on shared titles. Even where a licensed title lands in both countries, the dates often differ by weeks.

One thing November is good for
Netflix drops almost everything complete, Black Doves included. That is worth noting because it is no longer the industry norm.
